What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a data based science that uses the principles of behavior to create meaningful and positive changes in behavior. In ABA therapy, we use specialized assessment methods to understand what maintains the individual’s behavior. We then use this information to teach socially significant behaviors and decrease problem behaviors.

What skills are targeted in an ABA therapy program?

ABA treatment is frequently used to build skills such as:

  • Toilet training

  • Adaptive living skills

  • Expressive language

  • Receptive language

  • Play & leisure skills

  • Social skills

  • Basic academic and pre-academic skills

  • Vocational skills

  • & More
